Miscellaneous tips
At the beginning of the play, you should try to avoid moving checkers on low positions (position 1 and 2 in your home field). On these positions they lose meaning, since they cannot be moved here any more, and there is hardly a chance for them to beat opposing checkers.
The most dangerous distance between two of your stones that are not on occupied positions, is six positions. With this distance the largest risk exists to be struck on the bar with a Blot (single stone). The most frequently occurring throw with two cubes is 7, but because of the intermediate stop it is 6 with Backgammon.
