Gammon and Backgammon
Each play begins with the value 1. This can stand for points or an amount. If you win, without your opponent having beard off any checker, you reached a Gammon, and the value of the won game is doubled. A Backgammon is reached if your opponent could still not bear off any checker and if still at least one checker is standing in your home field or on the bar. If you achieve that, the value of the play is trebled.
