Bearing off
If you are playing a run play, in which the possibility to get each others checkers on the bar is small, then you should try to avoid an even distribution of your checkers in your home field as far as possible. The best positioning is to have most checkers on the 6th position and to have a declining number of checkers till position 4 and 3 (see picture) then. Thereby, you make the best of your last throws. It is a waste of pips to use a 5 or a 6 in order to bear off a checker on position 4.
